There aren't many effervescent energy tablets on the market and LiftOff Energy (made by Herbalife) has long been the leader. Today I review LiftOff Orange Energy Drink sent in by http://www.lifefood.co.uk . LiftOff comes in a small packet like Alka Seltzer, which is nice since it can easily fit in your pocket or wallet. The logo and design are well done being unique, while still interesting and appealing. After tearing open the little pouch you see an Alka Seltzer sized tablet that you simply drop into another beverage for an effervescent effect. I drop LiftOff Orange Energy Drink into the water and watch to see what happens.
It's always fun watching the tablet fizz up in the water. My water quickly turns into a light orange color. A full orange flavor develops from LiftOff that comes as cross between Orange Juice and Orangina. It's not very sweet at all but has a ripe tartness that won't have you cringing from an overwhelming sourness. Instead the tartnesss provides a nice contrast to the flavor and allows it to be pleasing even without the sweetness. LiftOff Orange has a little mineral character to it that is not uncommon with effervescent drinks. It has a nice mouth feel and sits well in the palette and stomach. Served ice cold the orange flavor is coolly refreshing without any kind of bitterness or gumminess like other energy drinks.
I like that LiftOff Energy comes in a small package with only 10 calories. Add to that a medium sized boost that is completely jitter free and you have an energy drink that appeals to the mainstream. The boost is very flat in that it contains no spike and won't have your energy level changing constantly. Instead you get constant energy for about 4 hours. The boost is powered by Vitamin C, B Vitamins, maltodextrin, taurine, caffeine, guarana, inostiol, sorbitol, acesulfame potassium, and sucralose. I enjoyed the steady, medium sized boost and taste from LiftOff Orange Energy Drink and think the effervescent quality makes it quite unique.
