NOS Sugarfree Energy Drink Review

When I reviewed NOS many months ago I was impressed. Good can, nice taste. Really only the presence of some scary ingredients prevented me from making it a go to drink. Now I've decided to check out Sugar Free NOS. They have done another good job on packaging with a fake brushed metal look that goes well with the racing theme. The 16 oz. can looks professional with the orange accents and I'm excited to try it and get a boost from the NOS.

Sugar Free NOS is an orange yellow color much like a mango. It's great tasting as it hits your mouth. There's plenty of orange soda taste and some of the mango you've come to expect from the juicier energy drinks. I think it's a little minerally with medium carbonation. The sugar free aftertaste is there but isn't too noticeable until about 30 seconds after you've stopped drinking. Then your mouth tastes artificially sweet. It's not as good as Monster Khaos but until they make a sugar free version of Lost 5-0, Khaos or Rockstar Juiced this is a pretty darn good substitute. The closest other thing would be the sugar free version of Full Throttle Fury, but that's more papaya flavored and less juice like.

This is the best sugar free drink I've had at giving a kick as it beats out No Fear Sugar Free. That's no surprise giving the reputation of NOS and the presence of taurine at ingredient #3 with 2000 mg. Other key ingredients are d-ribose, l-carnitine, caffeine, sodium hexametaphosphate, Vitamin C, inositol, gum arabic, acesulfame potassium, sucralose, ester gum, ginseng, beta carotene and B Vitamins. Sure that sodium hexametaphosphate is a little disconcerting but I'm learning to be more tolerant of these scary ingredients when I get such a big boost.
